Because of the washer, the axial ball bearings are angularly movable to compensate for misalignment. They have comparable sizes to the series 512 and are dismountable.

Thrust ball bearings are pure thrust bearings, which means they can only withstand major axial loads. However, tiny radial forces can also be transmitted depending on the axial load and speed range.
Thrust ball bearings also include thrust deep groove ball bearings and thrust angular contact ball bearings. Thrust angular contact ball bearings can withstand lower axial load than similar thrust ball bearings but have a higher radial load capacity.
